about me
I have had a lot on my mind. Come to think of it, I’ve always had a lot on my mind. It is full of thoughts that very seldom come up in conversation, and some that can’t be tolerated in polite conversation by most. I’m not even talking about the most controversial subjects, but merely the deep thoughts we have as we move through life that we often want to avoid. I find that I am unable to casually read or book or listen to a podcast or watch a television show. I am constantly filtering, contemplating and assessing their content. Storytelling around us has shaped us, perhaps more than we realize. For me, I love a good story and a good character arc. I think there should be more spaces to talk about these kinds of things in a way that promotes connection. A good story is just that because it reflects the human heart in some way. It is real, even when it’s fiction, when it’s good, it is real. More and more I feel a weight on my heart to pursue what is real. So here you will find little essays exploring symbolism, culture, beauty and heartache juxtaposed with classic or contemporary storytelling through a specific lens. A lens that acknowledges God is real and true and so is His word in the form of the Holy Scriptures. I want to express my thoughts and the moments that hit my heart strongly, in the hopes that sharing it will represent my Savior well and will share some love or insight or understanding or beauty with anyone who comes across this community. If that hits your heart too, welcome.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:5
